Laphcc in Arlington Heights, IL seeks an Industrial Mechanic to perform diversified duties across electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, plumbing and building trades in a manufacturing facility.

Job Description

Industrial Mechanic

$27-$40+/hr depend on exp

Summary/objective

1. Performs Diversified duties in several trades: Electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, plumbing and building trades. Troubleshoots and repairs machines, processes, and system as they related to the overall maintenance function of manufacturing facility. Works closely with the health and safety department to insurance employee safety is maintained at acceptable levels.

2. Tools & Machines: hand tools, machinist tools, meters, gauges, precision measuring instruments, electrical test equipment, milling machine, grinder, lathe, burning torch, welding machine, instruments used in the monitoring of employee health and safety and other equipment used to maintain equipment and systems.

3. Materials Used: Diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, metals, cleaning agents, lubricants, chemicals, log sheets, chemical manifests, and other materials used in the maintenance function.

Essential functions

  • Maintains electrical and mechanical systems as they relate to manufacturing.
  • Handles emergency maintenance jobs.
  • Maintains inventories and orders material as needed.
  • Installs equipment and processes as they relate to the manufacturing of medical devices using sketches, drawings, and prints.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical controls and components on production equipment and systems.
  • Completes in-house calibration and records data as it related to GMP, ISO & FDA regulations.
  • Designs control systems and builds control panels for specialty equipment used in the manufacturing process.
  • Performs water treatment and monitors discharge of waste to the sewer system; documents such activities to meet federal and state compliance regulations.
  • Maintains and cleans systems and equipment as required.
  • Repairs and troubleshoots air conditioning equipment and boiler systems.
  • Maintains buildings and grounds.
  • Maintains section compliance with GMP, ISO, FDA, OSHA, EPA, DEP and other regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains logs and records to meet all compliances of these agencies.
  • Assists with industrial hygiene studies as they relate to employee safety, i.e. hearing conservation, ventilation studies etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Competencies

  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, metals, chemicals, and other materials used in the maintenance function.
  • Proficient in the use of a variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.

Required education and experience [Indicate requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity]

  • 3+ years of work experience preferably in manufacturing
  • Successful completion of approved formal apprenticeship program in this specialized field OR the equivalent in work experience and/or on job training, or any combination thereof.

Pay Details: $27.00 to $40.00 per hour
