Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support our Glendale Heights, IL manufacturing facility. This role performs scheduled and unscheduled mechanical updates and repairs on fastener manufacturing equipment and proposes improvements to increase productivity.

Responsibilities include safety leadership, preventive maintenance on production lines, equipment setup for production, machine rebuilds, and troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ mechanical maintenance experience including industrial mechanical troubleshooting and repair, basic welding and cutting procedures, understanding of hydraulics, setup and operation of general machine maintenance shop equipment and tools, and correct use of machinist measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment mechanically.
• Industrial forklift certification preferred.

• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health standards and requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ mechanical maintenance experience including industrial mechanical troubleshooting and repair, basic welding and cutting procedures, understanding of hydraulics, set up and operation of general machine maintenance shop equipment and tools, and correct use of machinist measurement tools.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment mechanically.
• Capable of overcoming obstacles and completing assignments in a timely manner.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation preferred.
• PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite preferred.
• Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
• Industrial forklift certification preferred.
• Positive can-do attitude.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in high noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.
• Ability to mount/dismount forklift utilizing three points of contact (two hands and one foot).
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
• Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.
• Ability to work in an elevated ambient temperature environment.
• Ability to utilize stepladders, extension, and fixed ladders.
• Ability to enter confined spaces to perform work, including spaces with small and limited access and egress.
• The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds.

Pay Details:

$32.00 to $38.00 per hour
