Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Forest City, NC, seeks a Maintenance I for 1st shift to keep production equipment and facilities running safely and efficiently. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC milling centers, lathes, grinders, and related systems, ensuring minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work both independently and with teams in a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; a technical certificate or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to bend and run electrical conduit accurately and efficiently.
• Experience working safely around electrical cabinets with voltages up to 480 volts.
• Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
• Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, and industrial robotics is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• 1. Equipment maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on production machinery and systems.
• 2. Electrical work: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and conduit.
• 3. Downtime minimization: Respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• 4. Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance activities and inspections.
• 5. Compliance & safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure compliance.
• 6. Collaboration: Coordinate with production and vendors for maintenance tasks.
• 7. Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.
