Job summary

Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) is seeking a skilled DTNA byesville-based associate to disassemble HDEP engines to a bare block, following the remanufacturing process. You will operate torque wrenches, air tools, and presses, while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

The role requires reading work instructions, using computers for BOMs, and collaborating with a team. This onsite position in Byesville, OH offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties with repetitive processes and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Improve safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and housekeeping in the work area.
  • Operate torque wrenches, air tools, presses, gauges, hoist, hand tools, and computers.
  • Use pallet jack and hoist; identify components by part numbers.
  • Follow established work rotation and complete training matrices.
  • Read Work Station Instructions and access drawings/BOMs in electronic or hard copy.
  • Other duties as assigned and collaborate with teammates; overtime as needed.

Inside the Role

This position is responsible for the disassembly of HDEP heavy duty diesel engines by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for disassembly of all components from HDEP Engines to a complete bare engine block.

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
  • Operate torque wrenches, air tools, presses, gauges, hoist, press, hand tools, computers, PIV.
  • Use of pallet jack & hoist
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position
  • Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
  • Other tasks and/or duties as requested
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds . (with assistance from a team member or use of hoist)
  • Must maintain a clean work area.
  • Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
  • Cross train on other jobs as required
  • Ability to operate riveting, torqueing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
  • Read and understand Work Station Instruction documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
  • Previous mechanical experience
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
