Johnson Electric Group is seeking a 1st Shift Group Leader in Vandalia, OH, onsite. You will lead production operations, train team members, and uphold safety, quality, and productivity goals to sustain efficient workflow.

As a seasoned manufacturing professional, you will guide continuous improvement initiatives, review BOMs, and support diverse projects across production areas while mentoring staff for measurable results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience with leadership background.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Ability to train and support team members.

Responsibilities

• Train employees and support operations across multiple production areas
• Lead by example and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards
• Complete production reporting documentation including labor tracking, quality reports, and corrective actions
• Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify required components and materials
• Participate in Gemba Kaizen and continuous improvement activities
• Perform equipment set-ups and support production operations as needed
• Set up and run new and existing product configurations with minimal supervision
• Ensure products meet quality requirements before advancing to the next operation
• Support production teams by troubleshooting issues and maintaining workflow efficiency
• Maintain knowledge of machines, processes, and quality criteria within the department
