Responsibilities

  • Open and close hoppers on truck trailers to unload grain.
  • Open and close gates to load trucks with grain.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the plant and surrounding areas (sweeping, shoveling, mowing, pressure washing).
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Adhere to OSHA, state and federal safety regulations.
  • Maintain equipment, rolling stock, and facilities in a safe, clean condition.
  • Interact professionally with employees and customers.

Grain Dump/Loader Work ScheduleDaytime Shift

Hours of operation will range from 6:00 a.m. to 7:0 p.m. and are subject to change.

Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Brief Summary of JobThe Grain Dump/Loader position is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading and loading grain, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the facility, and assisting with daily operational needs.

Responsibilities may vary based on the specific facility and daily business requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Open and close hoppers on truck trailers to unload grain.
  • Open and close gates to load trucks with grain.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the plant and surrounding areas, which may include: Sweeping. Shoveling. Mowing. Pressure washing.
  • Other general cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Perform additional responsibilities based on daily operational needs and the type of facility.
  • Uphold compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Maintain the equipment, rolling stock, and facilities in a safe, clean, and professional condition.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner when interacting with employees and customers.
Qualities / Skills Needed
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be reliable and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of, and willingness to learn, grain handling operations.
  • Basic knowledge of math and measurements.
  • Ability to follow directions and use logical thought processes to interpret oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and/or alternate shifts as needed.
  • Ability to be on-call as business conditions warrant.
Travel:

5%–20% travel may be required at some facilities. Travel may include off-site training and/or work at alternate locations.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

This position requires considerable physical exertion and may involve demanding working conditions.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50–70 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds frequently, where applicable.
  • Ability to work at varying heights, including climbing grain bins, legs, and other facility structures.
  • Ability to perform work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods as required.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and other outdoor conditions.
  • Exposure to noisy working conditions.
  • Working conditions may include exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards.
  • Appropriate safety measures and procedures must be followed at all times.
