Job Overview

The 1st Shift Full Time Forklift Operator II is responsible for completing material movement throughout the facility and grounds by moving, loading, and unloading assets using a variety of material handling equipment, such as a forklift or pallet jack.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Pull specific vending and cold drink equipment to fulfill sales requests.
• Ensure all outbound loads are secured and safe by applying protective wrapping as needed and attaching proper documentation (STO).
• Load and unload trailers to support delivery activities, following SOPs, and updating SAP, CONA via handhelds for accountability.
• Perform safety and housekeeping activities, including pre-and post-trip checks, reviewing documentation, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Assist with staging equipment, yard maintenance, and other miscellaneous activities as directed.
• Utilize a switcher to maneuver 53’ and pup trailers to the dock as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of basic safety principles, including proper lifting and PPE use.
• Advanced forklift skills (single-wide) for safe and efficient operation in small areas.
• Basic pallet-jack skills.
• Mechanical skills and tool usage.
• Ability to operate multiple simple machines.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs and instructions.
• Ability to complete forms and document activities accurately.
• Intermediate math skills and ability to manage multiple processes.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in high/low temperatures, noisy conditions, slippery surfaces, and broken glass.
• Occasional lifting over 25 lbs., rarely over 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit for long periods and frequently get on/off forklifts.
• Opening and closing truck dock doors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Forklift and pallet jack certification.
• Switcher operation certification.
• Class A CDL if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in logistics.
• Understanding of truck/trailer loading strategies and weight distribution.

Work Environment

Noisy, non-temperature-controlled environment, including high and low temperatures.
