Job summary

U.S. LUMBER in Duncan, SC is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler (Forklift Operator). The role requires operating forklifts, pulling and staging materials, and ensuring safe, accurate order fulfillment.

Shift hours are 10am to 7pm, Monday through Friday, with an hourly pay rate of $17. Benefits include medical/dental/vision coverage, company-paid life insurance and disability, 401(k) with company match, three weeks PTO/paid holidays, and volunteer time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year warehouse distribution experience.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.
• Prior lumber experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with forklift operators to locate, pull, and stage materials for orders; safely package and secure shipments.
• Safely operate forklifts or other machinery to load/unload, move, and transport material; band/wrap product as needed.
• Maintain warehouse area: keep space clean, organized, and floors swept.
• Work cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees to complete workload.
• Provide outstanding service to customers with attention to detail, accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy, and track-and-trace issues.
• Read and understand tickets and product codes.
• Learn to use a chainsaw and Holtec Industrial Saw.
• Read a tape measure; accurately pull daily orders.
