Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator for the 1st shift in Salina, KS. The role focuses on safe movement of parts, proper part identification, and accurate paperwork within the Material Handling Department.

The position features a Monday–Thursday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as needed. Candidates should have or be able to obtain a forklift license and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• Must have forklift license or ability to obtain one.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understand team concepts and be a strong team player.
• Excel in fast paced, high-pressure situations.
• Ability to read prints and use tape measure, calipers, etc. as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe movement of parts to required staging areas or locations.
• Ensure correct part identification and delivery to correct location to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment used.
• Ensure paperwork from vendors is accurate.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
