Aapstaff is seeking a Material Handler in Illinois to accurately process customer orders, manage shipping/receiving, and perform inventory counts. The role requires forklift operation and adherence to safety standards to ensure item integrity and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, monitoring order progress, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace per 6S. Candidates should have 1–2 years warehouse experience and a HS diploma or GED.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

• Operate forklift, two-wheel hand cart and scales to retrieve stock.
• Check outgoing and incoming shipments for accuracy.
• Check orders for accuracy.
• Inspect goods for defects and report issues to supervisor or sales staff.
• Place compiled orders in designated areas.
• Monitor movement of orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Order picking, packing, labeling, and shrink-wrapping per SOPs; note customer-specific instructions.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, organized, and in accordance with 6S.
• Load finished products/orders onto trucks.
• Transport stock from storage to warehouse or required location.
• Load or unload material inbound or outbound.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Assist in counting physical inventory.
• Wear safety equipment and follow safety rules.

Job Title: Material Handler

Position Summary: The Material Handler provides customer satisfaction in accurately processing customer orders, shipping, receiving intra-company transfers, and inventory counts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a forklift, two-wheel hand cart, and scales. Retrieving stock to fulfill orders.
• Check outgoing and incoming shipments for accuracy.
• Check orders for accuracy.
• Inspect goods for defects and report damaged or defective material/product to the supervisor or sales staff; no damaged product will be sent out.
• Place compiled/completed orders in appropriate designated areas.
• Monitor the movement and progress of orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Order picking, packing, wrapping, labelling products, and shrink-wrapping orders that are palletized according to a standard operating procedure, making a note to follow any special instructions on orders with customer-specific requests.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, organized, and maintained by following the 6 S’s (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety).
• Load finished products/orders onto trucks.
• Transport stock from storage to warehouse or where needed.
• Load or unload material inbound or outbound.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Assist in counting physical inventory.
• Wear the proper safety equipment and always abide by safety rules.

Education and Experience Required:

HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution

Previous 1-2 years warehouse experience required

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, and successful completion of a forklift training program
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills & Mathematical skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Knowledgeable in TFI/OSHA Safety Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to work in a hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment
• Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 6+ hours per shift
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift
• Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift
• Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken words, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
