THREADED FASTENERS INC in Semmes, AL is hiring a full-time Material Handler to accurately process orders, shipping and receiving, and conduct periodic inventory counts. The role requires operating a forklift, hand carts, and scales, with a focus on accuracy and safety in a warehouse setting. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.

• Operate a forklift, two-wheel hand cart, and scales.
• Retrieve stock to fulfill orders.
• Check outgoing and incoming shipments for accuracy.
• Check orders for accuracy.
• Inspect goods for defects and report damaged or defective material/product to the supervisor or sales staff; no damaged product will be sent out.
• Place compiled/completed orders in designated areas.
• Monitor the movement and progress of orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Order picking, packing, wrapping, labeling product, and shrink-wrapping orders that are palletized according to SOPs; follow special customer instructions.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, organized, and maintained by following the 6 S's: Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety.
• Load finished products/orders onto trucks; transport stock from storage to warehouse or where needed; load/unload material inbound or outbound.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Assist in counting physical inventory.
• Wear proper safety equipment and abide by safety rules at all times.

Summary/Objective

The Material Handler provides customer satisfaction in accurately processing customer orders, shipping, receiving intra-company transfers, and inventory counts.

Essential Functions

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh 95 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the \"core\" work hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime is required as dictated by the workload.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of previous warehouse experience.

• Two to three years of previous warehouse experience.
• Forklift Certified.
