Job summary

The Floor Assembler performs repetitive bench or assembly line operations to mass-produce mechanical and/or electrical products.

Essential Functions
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble parts according to product specifications.
  • Assemble parts, components, or units in a specified relationship to each other.
  • Identify units that fail tests and repair as necessary.
  • Package assemblies as required.
  • Pick and pack orders from LSL Lumber using the order sheet provided each week.
  • Run machines, including arbor presses and riveting machines, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.
  • Achieve production efficiency and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Rotate workstations according to business and production needs.
  • Adhere to work schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • The position will not have direct reports.

Work environment
  • The work environment characteristics described here represent those employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse environment with elevated noise, dust, and activity. This is a non-temperature-controlled warehouse where temperatures can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. There is frequent exposure to moving parts.
Physical Demands
  • Physical ability is essential in this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to climb ladders to extreme heights and occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Travel required
  • No travel is required.
Required education and experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of 1 year of continuous experience operating a sit-down forklift.

$18 - $21 an hour

Schedule/Hours:

Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
