Job summary

United Alloy in Seguin, TX is seeking an Enclosure Weld Support to read tags, operate grinders and cranes, and maintain traceability per customer quality requirements. This on-site role features a 5:00am–3:00pm schedule with OT as required.

Training will be provided by the Enclosure Weld Lead and safety is emphasized. The position offers hands-on metal fabrication work, exposure to welding testing, and a path to skilled craft within a collaborative team focused on safety, quality, and on-time

Qualifications

  • Exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes.
  • Must pass UAI AWS D1.1 welding test.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to read blueprints and interpret material gauges.
  • Able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret tags to ensure traceability.
  • Operate grinders, sanders, stud guns only when trained.
  • Follow safety regulations and wear PPE.
  • Move materials from welding to paint using pallet jack.
  • Clean with DA sander or hand tools.
  • Assist in general duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

The Enclosure Weld Support will use a hand, pneumatic and power tools to clean, polish and grind metal components per specifications in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Training will be administered by the Enclosure Weld Lead.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 5:00am-3:00pm (OT as required)

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Must be able to read and interpret tags to efficiently maintain our traceability of the components.
  • PPE shall be worn at all times while in the shop.
  • Only operate equipment for which they have been formally trained.
  • Follow all United Alloy safety regulations and policies during the use of grinders, sanders, and stud guns.
  • Cleaning materials using a DA sander, grinder and or hand tools.
  • Moving materials from the welding area to the paint department utilizing a pallet and pallet jack.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • The individual must have an exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
  • Must pass a UAI AWS D1.1 welding test
  • The individual must possess a keen sense of attention to detail
  • Must possess the ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure and calipers, basic hand tools and air tools
  • Must be able to determine material types and gauges
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • This will be an onsite position in Seguin, Texas.
  • If selected for the role, a drug screen and physical will be conducted.
