Job summary

Ames Community School District is seeking a dedicated 1st Shift Custodian for Sawyer Elementary in Ames, Iowa. This full-time, year-round role offers a 5:30am–2:00pm schedule, helping maintain clean, safe facilities and supporting after-hours events.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms and the cafeteria, building security, and coordinating with staff via radio and email. Compensation is $17.00 per hour with benefits such as health insurance and IPERS retirement.

Qualifications

• Frequent lifting, bending, carrying and moving items up to 50 lbs.
• Effectively communicates both written and verbal
