Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA in Blytheville is seeking a 1ST shift CNC Machinist/Programmer to work on large weldments, castings and other mill components. You will set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical centers, and gantry mills.

You will read blueprints, determine tolerances, compute speeds and feeds, and ensure parts meet specifications while maintaining safety and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Ability to work accurately and thoroughly.
• High attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Performs setup, programming, and operation of CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centers and gantry mills.
• Makes programming and other adjustments to adhere to established specifications.
• Monitors work to ensure that machine is operating properly.
• Reads drawings, blueprints and written instructions to repair, modify and create parts.
• Determines dimensions and tolerances from specifications and studies parts.
• Calculates cutting speeds, feeds and dimensions.
• Pre-sets all tools needed for machining operations.
• Rigging and transporting large parts by crane.
• Inspects machined pieces for conformance to specs.
• Maintains housekeeping and daily maintenance of machines.
