Job summary

Independent Can Co in Belcamp, MD is seeking a Machine Operator for a fast-paced production environment. You will operate can manufacturing equipment, assist with packing and quality inspections, and contribute to a range of line functions as needed.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to GMPs, and safety in a heavy-duty production setting, with a first shift and hourly pay in a defined range. Ideal candidates are reliable and willing to perform multiple tasks on the line.

Qualifications

• English-language instruction and basic safety reading ability are required.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
• A secondary language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Arrange machine at the beginning of shift to ensure that the line is in order.
• Set up machines with needed materials. Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids or conveyors.
• Inspect and pack manufactured products in an efficient manner with regards to quality standards.
• Perform basic manufacturing processes by operating contingent line equipment such as tapers, printers, strappers and cover ups.
• Meet customer requirements by following work instructions including work orders, specification sheets, and production reporting.
• Independently operate manufacturing equipment in an efficient and safe manner while meeting required quality standards.
• Identify and correct manufacturing issues which effect production efficiency and quality.
• Perform minor maintenance including greasing and oiling.
• Recognize problems and recommend corrective actions to mechanics.
• Comply with GMP and AIB procedures.
• Follow Company personnel and product safety requirements including standards such as those from SQF and internal GMPs.
• Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with State and Federal laws.
• Other duties as assigned
