Job summary

Times Microwave Systems in Wallingford, CT is seeking a skilled Cable Manufacturing Operator to perform a range of cabling operations following established methods and shop orders. You will set up and operate taping, respooling and braiding equipment, making adjustments to maintain proper lay tension and meet finish specifications.

This role requires attention to quality, strict safety compliance and the ability to read manuals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years relevant experience.
• Ability to comprehend parts/operator manuals/instructions.
• Solid troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of cable manufacturing operations to construct cable following established methods, procedures or instructions.
• Work from shop orders and other instructions to set-up and operate simultaneously; taping equipment, respooling equipment and braiding machines as directed. Make all necessary adjustments to obtain and maintain proper lay tension and other factors to assure compliance with finish specifications.
• Remain alert performing all needed adjustments to ensure all operations such as wrapping and braiding result in compliance with specifications.
• Perform other departmental operations as assigned.
• Detect and report defective material, faulty operation and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow environmental, health and safety regulations.
