Job summary

Katy ISD is seeking a 1st Grade (Self-Contained) teacher in Katy, Texas. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for the subject/level, and ESL certification for K-5 RLA or self-contained classrooms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for the subject and level.
• ESL certification is required for K-5 RLA or self-contained special education or general education classroom assignments.
• ESL certification is preferred for Math, Science, and Social Studies assignments.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum policy.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations and differentiation.
• Present material as guided by TEA policies and district procedures.
• Collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals and best practices.
• Use digital tools and resources to promote learning and creativity.
• Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
• Plan assessments and monitor student achievement to guide delivery.
