Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an IDEA Academy teacher dedicated to helping every student master core academics and social skills for college success. You will set ambitious goals, create a rigorous learning environment, plan and deliver instruction, and assess progress toward mastery.

You will analyze data to intervene, communicate weekly with families, and participate in school-wide initiatives. A Bachelor's degree and TX teaching certification are required; K-12 experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for K-3 or TX training; bilingual/ESL credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress and adjust lesson plans based on data.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
