Old Town Elementary School is seeking a long-term substitute for a 1st grade class from late November 2026 to late February or early March 2027. The school serves about 500 students in a K-5 setting, and the substitute will follow existing plans while adapting daily lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

• Work collaboratively with the 1st grade team.

• Ensure a supportive and orderly classroom climate.
• Frequent communication with colleagues, families, and the teacher on leave.
• Administer and track assessments as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Collaborate with the 1st grade team to meet student needs.

About

Old Town Elementary School is seeking applications for a long term substitute in a 1st grade classroom from late November 2026 to late February or early March 2027. OTES is a kindergarten through 5th grade elementary school with about 500 students enrolled. The following expectations are a part of this long term position:

• Follow teacher’s general starting plans, but plan and adjust some daily lessons and activities.
• Maintain classroom expectations and a positive classroom environment.
• Communicate on a regular basis with the teacher on leave, coworkers and families.
• Conduct assessments as planned by the teacher.
• Work collaboratively with the 1st grade team.

Position Requirements For Application

CHRC, 020 endorsement preferred

Compensation: $125-$150 per day based on certification
