Ideal candidates hold 3G/4G certification in multiple disciplines and can pass NDE testing. Safety compliance, confined-space work, and the ability to work at elevations are essential.

Qualifications

• Full penetration welds that pass NDE testing (e.g., x-ray, ultrasound).
• Ability to lay out track marks on components.
• Ability to identify common welding symbols.
• 3G/4G certification in multiple disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains the appropriate tools needed and sets up equipment.
• binds together pre-assembled and tacked components.
• Performs cosmetically sound welds.
• Removes excess weld, slag, and splatter with grinders or chisels.
• Exhibits minimal rework upon completion.
• Troubleshoots welding equipment.
• May gouge or grind to remove weld reinforcement as needed.
• Work in confined spaces as required.
• Climb elevations or work at heights above 5 inches.
• May wear a respirator where applicable.

Job description

Position: 1st Class Aluminum Pulse Welder

Location: Lockport, LA

Job Overview: The 1st Class Aluminum Pulse Welder welds together structural metal components as specified in blueprints, work orders or oral instructions.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtains the appropriate tools needed for a particular job and subsequently sets up their equipment.
• Binds together structural metal components that have been pre-assembled and tacked into place.
• Performs good, cosmetic sound welds.
• Examines his/her work and may chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter with the appropriate tools. (i.e. grinder, chipping hammer, etc.).
• Leaves little to no rework when the job is complete. (i.e. cold rolls, pin holes, wraps, burn throughs, etc.).
• Troubleshoots his/her equipment.
• May gouge/grind to remove a member, make a seam sound, remove weld reinforcement, etc.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work to work/climb in elevations greater than 5\".
• Must be able to wear/work a respirator when applicable.

Qualifications

• Certified in 3G and 4G in at least 3 or more of the following disciplines preferred: flux core, short arc, aluminum, aluminum heliarc, stainless steel, carbon-to-stainless steel, and submerged arc.
• Able to make a full penetration weld that will pass NDE Testing. (i.e. x-ray, ultrasound, magnetic particles, dye penetrant).
• Able to lay out track marks.
• Able to identify most used welding symbols.
