Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking an assembly technician for a 2nd shift. You will build electrical and mechanical assemblies, stock and issue parts, and maintain records according to electronic procedures.

The role requires a HS diploma (or 2 years experience) and training in circuit-board soldering and unit assembly. Candidates should be prepared for on-site work and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, typically 2 years of relevant experience is required.
• Must successfully complete required new-hire qualification training. Training includes one week of circuit-board soldering, followed by one week of electronic unit assembly training. Training also includes classroom instruction in quality standards and workmanship. Each course includes written knowledge and hands-on skills assessments. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of both qualifications. Full attendance during the initial two-week training period is required.
• Basic computer proficiency is required. Employees must have the ability to use a computer, mouse, and keyboard; navigate electronic systems and menus; and access, read, and follow computer-based workmanship standards and electronic work instructions.
• Must be able to work 2nd shift.

• Perform other duties as may be required.
• This is a 2nd Shift position, based on business needs. There will be training on 1st shift for a few weeks. Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift.
• May be required to lift/move heavy parts and/or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
