Job summary

Schnucks in Maplewood, MO is seeking a part-time team member for a 20-25 hour weekly role. You will provide friendly customer service, greet customers, and handle checkout and payments. Training is provided at store level.

Physical requirements include standing for shifts and light lifting up to 25 pounds. Internal candidates have preferred status, with equal opportunity employment noted. Hours span from early morning to evenings, including weekends, with opportunities to grow within the company

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Greet customers prior to checking their order.
• Check out customer’s purchases accurately.
• Process and apply manufacturer coupons correctly.
• Collect correct amount due from customer and handle payments (cash, checks, debit/credit, EBT, WIC).
• Complete register records accurately and maintain cash security.
• Bag customer orders and manage receipts and coupon tapes.
• Other duties may be assigned by store management.

Job Description Candidates MUST be available between 6am-10:15pm and weekends to be considered. This role is offering 20-25 hours per week. This is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform.

DUTIES

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Greet customers prior to checking their order
• Check out customer’s purchases accurately
• Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes
• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
• Process manufacturer coupons
• Collect correct amount due from customer
• Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
• Complete register record accurately
• Practice and maintain cash security
• Bag customer orders
• Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management

TRAINING

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Bending Stooping Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates: Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred. Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred. Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline). If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
