Job summary

Schnucks is seeking a checker to join our team in a fast-paced store environment. The role emphasizes friendly customer service, accurate checkout, and knowledge of produce items and product codes.

The position requires reliable attendance and the ability to handle multiple payment types, coupons, and cash security while assisting customers and contributing to smooth store operations.

• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons.
• Process manufacturer coupons.
• Collect correct amount due from customer.
• Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options.
• Complete register record accurately.
• Practice and maintain cash security.
• Bag customer orders.
• Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes.
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management.

You could expect the position of checker to include the following:

DUTIES:

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Bending Stooping Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred. Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred. Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline). If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
