Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Brownsville, Texas seeks a Job Coach for the 18+ program to help young adults learn work and daily living tasks in small groups, translating classroom lessons to real job sites with on-the-spot feedback.

You will collaborate with teachers to align IEP goals, pursue industry-based certifications with STC, and support students toward internships, college readiness, and successful post-secondary outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Experience working with students with cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities strongly preferred.
• Licenses or Certifications: Willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure transitional experiences help 100% of enrolled young adults meet 90% of their IEP goals.
• Collaborate with Teachers to develop real-world opportunities aligned to student’s IEP goals and enable authentic practice.
• Read, analyze, and respond to IEP data tracking to prioritize the highest leverage next actions.
• Participate in data conversations with students, parents, and community stakeholders to improve outcomes.
• Maintain 97.5% ADA for program enrollees to maximize transition plan outcomes.
• Aim for 90% of graduates securing a job or enrolling in a post-secondary program.
• Assist students in obtaining industry-based certifications through our STC partnership.
