Job summary

All Metals Processing of Orange County is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our surface finishing plating operations. The role focuses on industrial plumbing, fluid transfer systems, process tanks, and overhead crane equipment in an active chemical processing environment.

You will work with safety-first practices, follow OSHA and SDS guidelines, and log all maintenance activity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years industrial maintenance in plating/chemical environments.
• Experience threading, solvent welding piping (CPVC, PVDF, PVC) and servicing valves/pumps.
• Strong troubleshooting across pumps, pneumatics, motor controls.
• Know OSHA guidelines, SDS, chemical compatibility, spill response.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/scissor lifts.

Job description

We are seeking hands-on, safety-first Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our surface finishing plating operations. This role focuses heavily on industrial plumbing, fluid transfer systems, process tank hardware, and overheard crane equipment in an active chemical processing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plumbing & Fluid Handling Systems:
  • Install, repair, and maintain chemical-resistant pipping systems (PVC, CPVC, PVDF, Polypropylene), valves, and metering pumps.
  • Troubleshoot, rebuild, and replace air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps, centrifugal filter pumps, and magnetic-drive transfer units.
  • Maintain process plumbing for DI water, wastewater treatment, drainage trenches, and city water feeds.
• Inspect, clean, and repair process tanks, heating/cooling coils, agitation lines, and exhaust ventilation shrouds.
• Service copper bus bars, rectifiers, and contact saddles; ensure proper placement of dielectric insulation and plastic shields to prevent grounding faults.
• Perform routine cathode/anode bar adjustments, structural tank rack repairs, and tank liner visual inspections.
• Mechanical & Material Handling:
  • Inspect and maintain overhead bridge cranes, hoists, monorails, and lifting tackle to ensure safe load rigging.
  • Service blowers, scrubbers, motors, gearboxes, and chemical exhaust fans.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and Hazardous Chemical handling procedures.
  • Champion stop-work authority when unsafe conditions arise and promptly log all maintenance activity and near-misses.
  • Wear all required specialized PPE (chemical-resistant suits, face shields, respirators, rubber boots) when servicing line hardware

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a plating shop, anodizing facility, chemical manufacturing plant, or heavy wet-process industrial setting.
• Plumbing Expertise: Proven experience threading, solvent welding, and routing chemical-duty rigid and flexible piping (CPVC, PVDF, PVC) and servicing process valves/pumps.
• Mechanical Skills: Solid troubleshooting foundation across pumps, pneumatics, basic motor controls, and material handling systems.
• Safety Mindset: Firm knowledge of OSHA guidelines, chemical compatibility, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and hazardous spill response.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work on ladders/scissor lifts, wear full chemical PPE, and maneuver around active process lines.

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience with electroplating, anodizing, or wastewater treatment (WWT) equipment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (24V controls through 480V 3-phase).
