Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Analysis Engineer to model 12V/48V electrical systems and vehicle architectures using Saber, MATLAB/Simulink, and SiL workflows.

You will collaborate with Electrical Architects, Co-simulation teams, and suppliers to build high-fidelity models, run simulations, and present results at program milestones. A strong background in engineering principles and AI/ML methods is valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls engineering.
• 5+ years in design, analysis or testing of 12V/48V electrical systems.
• Proficient in Synopsys Saber, MAST, MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape.
• Skilled in developing models for Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) simulations.
• Experience with FMUs and co-simulation.
• Hands-on experience with 12V/48V component sizing simulations (battery, bus).

Responsibilities

• Lead effort to develop new analysis capabilities for 12V/48V electrical systems.
• Develop physics-based models for co-sim and software-in-the-loop within electrical and thermal domains.
• Develop vehicle electrical and battery electro-thermal models to support virtual controls for Co-Sim and calibration initiatives.
• Perform standard analyses to deliver design solutions which are robust and reliable utilizing optimization and statistical methods when appropriate.
• Collaborate with global analysis engineers to ensure on time delivery of high-quality results.
• Lead and conduct peer reviews of analysis results prior to delivery to the product team.
• Work collaboratively with Electrical Architects, SiL teams and component hardware design teams to ensure system requirements are met.
• Collaborate with other CAE teams to capture and integrate higher fidelity models into electrical system models.
• Support critical vehicle program gates with technical reviews.
