Job summary

Chevron is seeking a Shift Team Lead to manage a 24/7 operating crew at the El Segundo Refinery. You will prioritize resources, execute daily operating plans, and coordinate with other areas to drive profitability while upholding safety and environmental standards.

The role requires 10+ years in refining ops (or 5+ with a technical background), and a 12-hour rotating shift. Location is within 50 miles of El Segundo; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 10 years' refining ops experience, or 5 years with a technical background supporting refining operations.
• Experience with Crude Distillation, Hydrogen Production, Hydrotreating/Hydrocracking, or Coking.

Responsibilities

• Operational Coordination: supervise and direct shift activities, align teams with goals, provide updates to leadership.
• Emergency Response: act in unusual or emergency situations to correct adverse conditions and ensure process safety.
• Maintenance Supervision: supervise removal, preparation, maintenance, and return of equipment.
• Preventative Maintenance: direct continuous service and preventative maintenance by crew.
• Resource Management: optimize use of utilities, materials, and tools; suggest improvements for profitability.
• Leadership: demonstrate decision-making, health, safety, and environmental focus; manage payroll and feedback.
• Safety and Compliance: enforce safety rules, ensure safe operation, report unsafe conditions.
• Additional items: support studies, field tests, and updates to standards and procedures.
