Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager Operations at our Tilden Mine site in Ishpeming, MI. This role provides leadership, direction, and coordination on a rotating twelve-hour schedule to safely and efficiently execute planned work aligned with department goals.

The position requires directing crews, driving safety, quality, and production targets, and mentoring staff. You will work with engineering and maintenance to meet cost targets and support customer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 3+ years of related heavy industry experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a mining/mineral processing operation.
• High degree of computer literacy.
• Demonstrate data interpretation and analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction within the mine operations department to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with standards.
• Direct, coordinate, and motivate personnel to meet performance targets via field and/or dispatch management.
• Ensure safe, quality execution of departmental work and report deviations from the plan with recommended solutions.
• Promote teamwork and clear communication of expectations and assignments to achieve high performance.
• Collaborate with mine engineering and maintenance to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost targets.
• Communicate with plant operations to support customer requirements.
• Coach personnel and conduct operator performance reviews to ensure adherence to standard work procedures and staff development.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within the department.
