Job summary

The Orchard Ltd is seeking an experienced LPN to support medication management and patient care in our facility in the United States. You will work under the Director of Nurses, verify physician orders, and ensure accurate documentation and secure medication rooms.

The role requires interaction with residents and families, and supervising aides while upholding facility policies on medication disposal and safety.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current Mississippi license.
• Experience administering medications per physician orders.
• Ability to verify physician orders and document accordingly.
• Experience interacting with residents and families; communicate professionally.
• Ability to supervise aides.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Director of Nurses.
• Maintain knowledge of each resident from biosketch and family interview.
• Accept and verify resident medications delivered from pharmacy.
• Verify receipt of physician orders for medications and other treatments.
• Administer medications per physician's order.
• Clarify physician orders as needed by calling the physician or designee.
• Ensure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms and physician orders.
• Ensure medication room is stocked with all required medications as ordered by the physician.
• Ensure medication room is secured at all times.
• Follow facility policies regarding disposal of medications.
• Communicate with resident family members in a courteous, professional manner.
• Supervises and directs aides.

• Work under the direction of the Director of Nurses
• Maintain knowledge of each resident from his/her biosketch and family interview
• Accept & verify resident medications delivered from pharmacy.
• Verify receipt of physician orders for medications and other treatments
• Administer medications per physician's order.
• Clarify physician orders as needed by calling the physician or his/her designee.
• Ensure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, etc.
• Ensure medication room is completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, over the counter, and other medications as ordered by the physician.
• Ensure medication room is secured at all times.
• Follow facility policies regarding disposal of medications.
• Communicate, as needed, with resident family members and other legal representatives in a courteous, professional manner.
• Supervises and gives direction to aides.
