Job summary

The Orchard Ltd is seeking an LPN to support nursing operations in a long-term care setting. You will administer medications per physician orders, verify orders, and maintain accurate documentation while ensuring medication room security and stock levels.

You will also communicate with residents and families, collaborate with the care team, and supervise aides to ensure high-quality resident care and compliance with facility policies.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in Mississippi.
• Experience in long-term care setting preferred.
• Ability to document accurately and timely.

Job description

Staff LPN must have the physical, emotional, & technical abilities to:

• Work under the direction of the Director of Nurses
• Maintain knowledge of each resident from his/her biosketch and family interview
• Accept & verify resident medications delivered from pharmacy.
• Verify receipt of physician orders for medications and other treatments
• Administer medications per physician's order.
• Clarify physician orders as needed by calling the physician or his/her designee.
• Ensure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, etc.
• Ensure medication room is completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, over the counter, and other medications as ordered by the physician.
• Ensure medication room is secured at all times.
• Follow facility policies regarding disposal of medications.
• Communicate, as needed, with resident family members and other legal representatives in a courteous, professional manner.
• Supervises and gives direction to aides.
