Raley's in Phoenix is seeking an Assistant Produce Team Lead to guide the produce department toward top quality and customer satisfaction. You will train, supervise, and coordinate daily tasks to meet store goals while delivering expert product knowledge and fresh, high-quality produce.

In this role, you’ll direct team members in the manager's absence, oversee stock, displays, pricing, and signage, and maintain safe, efficient operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• In the produce manager's absence, directing produce department personnel and meeting department's goals and objectives.
• Communicating directly with the store team lead and produce department supervisors.
• Ordering produce and produce department products necessary to maintain adequate stock levels and merchandising fruits, vegetables and produce products in accordance with produce merchandising standards.
• Unloading trailers, receiving merchandise verifying orders, breaking down produce loads, positioning cases of product in the produce warehouse or walk-in cooler.
• Understanding proper product trimming, rotation, culling, crisping and watering techniques and procedures, ensuring product attractiveness and shelf life.
• Building attractive displays of produce, while maintaining proper product inventory levels.
• Understanding the importance of monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement and the proper use of product shelf tags and signage.
• All other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose: The Assistant Produce Team Lead will be responsible for executing a wide variety of tasks throughout the store. Focusing on leading a successful produce team, the Asst. Produce Team Lead is a Produce Team Lead in training who strives to meet department goals and objectives while providing customers with product expertise and the freshest and best quality produce.
