Job summary

First American is seeking an Exchange Manager for the National Commercial Services team in Florida to oversee profitability and align branch goals with company objectives. You will coach staff, manage workflows, and drive performance across the geographic area.

You will build relationships with brokers, real estate agents, tax advisors, and attorneys to develop new business while ensuring accurate handling of 1031 transactions and compliance with established practices.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of directly related 1031 exchange experience.

The role is multi-faceted with administrative, operational, and sales components, including the hiring, training, supervising, and developing of personnel who can work as a team and achieve business, professional, and personal development. As needed, an Exchange Manager will work directly with a wide range of people, which can include clients, tax advisors, title companies, escrow or settlement agents, real estate agents, and others. The ideal candidate will also ensure compliance to established operating practices, staff training, preparation of related reports, and audits of current performance in monitoring of operational efficiency.HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTEOversees branch operation’s profitability and communicating and implementing the company’s goals and objectives. Monitors and reports on profitability for assigned geographic area(s). Interprets financial data and makes adjustments in order to effectively manage expenses and achieve profitability.Manages a team or teams. Responsible for coaching, mentoring, hiring, and training of all branch exchange personnel. Delegates assignments, provides development opportunities. Manages workflow and resolves escalated issues.Aligns branch goals with business unit goals. Provides input to Senior Management.Develops new and repeat business through brokers, real estate agents, escrow and settlement offices, attorneys, and tax advisors.Maintains existing client base and manages ongoing client and business relationships.Works with internal and external customers to manage all aspects of 1031 exchange transactions.Answers questions and provides guidance regarding services, policies or specific transactions.WHAT YOU'LL BRINGRequired Education, Experience, Certification/LicensureBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience5-7 years of directly related 1031 exchange experience1-3 years demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management roleDemonstrated success establishing, leading and maintaining effective working relationshipsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)Proficiency in 1031 exchange rules, including forward, reverse, and improvement exchangesProficient in computer skillsStrong capacity to communicate the company’s direction and set aligned goals.
