Dallas County, Texas is seeking an experienced legal secretary to support a unit of attorneys. The role involves routine secretarial tasks, document drafting, and calendar management with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years of related experience, and can pass required skill tests on typing, data entry, and MS Office suite.
Provides routine secretarial support for a unit of attorneys to ensure completion of their work in an efficient and conscientious manner. Utilizes computer knowledge to create forms for documents that are used repeatedly, screens telephone calls, compiles routine data in established formats, organizes and maintains all files and calendars. Works with minimal supervision and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks.
Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program. Three (3) years of work related experience or 45 hours of college credit or a combination of the two.
Ability to type 50 wpm, with proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Candidates for all clerical, administrative and/or secretarial positions will be required to take and pass at least one skill(s) test(s) which will be determined by the Elected Official or Department Head based on the position and the operational needs of the department. Testing may include one or more of the following: 10-key, Coding, Data entry, Filing, Grammar, Math, MS Excel, MS Word, Proof Reading, Spelling, Sorting, Timed Typing (3 minute).
May require prolonged sitting, standing and ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
