Seeking a Senior Technical Writer with Guidewire experience to develop clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation for enterprise insurance platforms. This role will partner with architects, developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts to document system functionality, data mappings, integrations, APIs, workflows, and business processes. The ideal candidate can quickly understand complex technical concepts and translate them into well-organized documentation for both technical and business audiences.
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting enterprise software or technology implementations.
- Hands-on experience documenting Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) and/or EIS platforms.
- Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, data mapping, data flows, and enterprise application architecture.
- Experience creating technical documentation, implementation guides, system specifications, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Ability to document complex technical workflows, system interactions, and business processes.
- Experience collaborating with developers, solution architects, business analysts, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance industry experience.
- Experience documenting cloud-based enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with SQL, XML, JSON, or data structures to support technical documentation.
- Experience developing user guides and technical reference materials.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain technical documentation for Guidewire and enterprise insurance applications.
- Document system architecture, APIs, integrations, data mappings, interfaces, and end-to-end business processes.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop implementation guides, technical specifications, process documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
- Partner with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to capture technical requirements and system functionality.
- Produce workflow diagrams, process maps, system interaction diagrams, and data flow documentation.
- Ensure documentation remains current as systems, integrations, and business processes evolve.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies to stay aligned with product enhancements and technical changes.
- Support knowledge transfer by creating high-quality documentation that enables successful implementation, maintenance, and user adoption.
- Maintain documentation standards, version control, and consistency across enterprise systems.
