Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company is seeking an Intern – Multi-Family Property for a 10-week program across multiple U.S. locations.

Interns live in a furnished apartment with rent and utilities covered and participate in HQ events with travel expenses covered. Under guidance of the property manager, you will shadow leasing staff, assist with leasing activities, and gain hands-on experience in resident interactions, renewals tracking, and general property operations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year accredited Property Management/Real Estate/Marketing or similar program.
• 1 year of customer service work experience.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Open to rising juniors or seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leasing apartments, maintain a list of available units, respond to inquiries, qualify prospects, show apartments, prepare move-in paperwork, and input traffic numbers daily.
• Follow up with prospective residents within 24–48 hours.
• Assist with inspecting apartments with new residents and review leasing paperwork and rules.
• Learn renewals management, tracking lease expirations, and renewal letters.
• Process and report application fees, security deposits, rents and other fees.
• Enter prospect and resident data in Yardi.
• Learn Fair Housing and Tax Compliance regulations relevant to occupancy.
• Plan and assist resident functions and contribute to property tours.
• Support curb appeal and handling resident service requests with timely follow-up.
• Answer phones and communicate courteously with customers.
