Job summary

Northwood Academy Charter School in Philadelphia is seeking a SPED Assistant 1:1 to provide individualized support to a student with disabilities and to help maintain progress toward IEP/FBA goals in a safe learning environment.

Under the Director of Special Education, you will work closely with teachers and staff, participate in ongoing training, and contribute to the student’s academic and personal success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and aged 18+.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience working with children.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Willingness to collaborate with a team and support diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned student 1:1 to progress toward IEP/FBA goals.
• Communicate with the instructional team and leadership on relevant matters.
• Participate in 10 hours of professional development/ongoing training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
