Job summary

Druid Hills High School is seeking a Paraprofessional, 1:1, to support students with educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs in the classroom and community, delivering instruction under a certified teacher.

Responsibilities include assisting with health-related and personal care tasks, small groups or one-on-one instruction, data collection, progress monitoring, and implementing IEP-based accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• An associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved college/university.
• Sixty semester hours or ninety quarter hours with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• A valid Georgia PSC-approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical and personal care needs under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Supports health-related care and non-medical assistance when trained and authorized.
• Assists with health care procedures, including hygiene and medications as needed.
• Provides small group and/or one-on-one instruction per lesson plans.
• Monitors students before/after school and during transitions.
• Assists with classroom management and related recordkeeping tasks.
• Assists with progress monitoring and data collection under supervision.

Education

High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment

Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved college/university

Sixty semester hours or ninety quarter hours with GPA 2.0+ from a Georgia PSC-approved college

Valid paraprofessional certificate
