SILVERTON ACADEMY ES in Deer Park, Ohio is seeking a Paraprofessional (Special Needs/1:1/Units) to support students under the supervision of certified staff. The role emphasizes assisting with reading, language arts, math and classroom activities, supervising non-instructional areas, and helping implement individualized instructional programs.

The successful candidate should have an associate degree or higher, Ohio Educational Aide Permit and pass the Parapro assessment.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher required or equivalent.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Passing of the Parapro Assessment as required by law.
Ohio Educational Aide Permit required.
Experience with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics and computer instruction.
Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
Assist in administering and correcting classroom exercises and assessments.
Help prepare and implement instructional materials and strategies for individual needs.
Maintain records documenting student learning and performance.
Support behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly classroom.
Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, corridors, study hall).
Accompany students on field trips to provide supervision.
