Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools at James N Gamble Montessori HS in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a Paraprofessional (Special Needs/1:1/Units) to support students under the supervision of certified staff. This is a 7-hour daily, school-year position under the AFSCME contract.

The role requires effective communication, ability to work with diverse students, and assistance with instructional activities, behavior management, and supervision during meals, buses, and field trips.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pass Parapro Assessment as required by law.
• Prior experience with children desirable.
• Must obtain Educational Aide Permit issued by the State of Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Support students to meet instructional goals in class.
• Work with students in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist with record-keeping of student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom preparations and instructional materials.
• Support behavioral management to maintain a safe classroom.
• Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, study hall).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Follow safety rules and support compliance with regulations.
