Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 'Highly Qualified' per NCLB (Associate's degree or passing Para Pro or Work Keys)
• Experience working with students with disabilities; experience assisting with IEPs.
• Excellent communication and behavior management skills; ability to work as part of a team; willing to be trained in de-escalation and restraint techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist one or more teachers in implementing the instructional program and duties as assigned by the teachers
• Assist the teacher to assess student performance
• Maintain records and data on student performance as assigned by the teacher
• Monitor student behavior and assist students to engage in appropriate classroom behavior
• Assist the teacher in implementing IEPs, when applicable
