Job summary

Farmington Area Public Schools is seeking a 1:1 SpEd Para at FES. The position is 32 hours per week with compensation at $22.50 per hour.

The role focuses on assisting teachers to meet the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities, working with individuals or small groups under teacher direction. Responsibilities include reinforcing motor, academic, social, self-care or communication skills, adapting to each student’s medical, physical, and emotional needs, and assisting

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, preferred in educational settings.
• Ability to assist teachers in meeting physical and instructional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to teachers in meeting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce skills under the direction of the teacher.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transferring, lifting, and positioning.
