Lochburn Middle School seeks a Special Education 1:1 Paraeducator to support students with diverse needs in K-12 settings. The role emphasizes direct instruction, behavior management, preparation of materials, and ensuring student safety and well-being.

The incumbent will assist with lifting, toileting, feeding, and other personal care tasks as needed, under the guidance of a special education teacher. This 6.75-hour day position runs 191 days per year, with a shift from 8:30am to 3:45pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with one of the approved options.
• Associate degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher.
• Completion of an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a PESB-registered program.

Responsabilités

• Assist with hygiene, including lifting, toileting, washing, feeding and basic medical tasks under professional direction.
• Provide transition assistance and supervision during school activities.
• Support behavior management and instructional activities as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with IEPs, data collection, and record-keeping under guidance of the teacher.
• Prepare instructional materials and manage classroom records and files.
