Job summary

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with specialized needs under the direction of Special Education Teachers.

The role includes assisting with academics, behavior, and health/hygiene needs, requiring the ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted (50 pounds with assistance) and a valid ISBE license. Starting pay is $21.25/hour with full benefits and a typical 35-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Ability to apply general written and verbal guidance to classroom situations.
• Strong desire to support students with specialized needs.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance; up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Support academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students as directed by teachers.
• Assist with supervising and aiding students within the classroom setting.
• Follow district policies and best practices for special education support.
