Job summary

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is seeking a Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with individualized education plans. You will work under Special Education Teachers to assist with academic tasks and behavior management across the school day.

Responsibilities include assisting with academic tasks, behavior support, and health/hygiene needs, and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Desire to assist students with specialized needs and implement guidance from teachers.
• Knowledge of best practices for working with children with specialized needs, or ability to obtain knowledge.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and health/hygiene needs as directed.
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt instructions as needed.
