Job summary

Abilities First, Inc. is hiring 1:1 Teacher Aides for our Educational Learning Experience program in New Windsor, NY. You will support the teacher, assist with classroom activities, and help students with daily needs in a collaborative, inclusive setting.

The schedule runs Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm (32.5 hours/week, 48 weeks/year). Starting pay ranges from $17.08 to $19.08 per hour, with benefits in line with our program and school calendar.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in early childhood and Special Education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classroom activities and activities planning.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
• Attend therapy sessions with students to support classroom carryover.
• Escort and assist students to and from buses; support mobility and independence.
• Perform wheelchair/equipment transporting, transferring and lifting.
• Assist with toilet needs and adaptive equipment; maintain hygiene.
• Prepare meals/feeding support and assist with OT procedures as needed.
• Set up computers and communication devices; support adaptive tech.
• Attend staff meetings and training; uphold safety and professional standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
