Job summary

Harris Elementary School in Fort Wayne, Indiana seeks a 2.5-hour Autistic Disability 1:1 Special Education Assistant to support a student and assist teachers in SPED or general classrooms. The role requires patience, strong communication, and a willingness to supervise students as needed. Work during the school year with shifts typically between 7:15am and 3:30pm.

Starting date is To Be Determined. Pay ranges from $16.01 to $19.14 per hour and benefits include holidays, PTO, basic life

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with students with special needs preferred.
• Flexible to meet changing needs of students; strong tutorial skills.
• Strong office, computer, and oral and written communication skills.
• Must participate in training provided by the Special Education Department.
• Willing to supervise students in community settings.

• Assist teachers with instructional tasks and clerical duties.
• Support student management and daily living activities.
