Job summary

North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a 6.5hr Autistic Disability 1:1 Special Education Assistant to support teachers and students in a classroom setting.

The role focuses on assisting with instructional, clerical, student management and daily living activities for students with special needs, with shifts typically 7:15am–3:30pm during the school year; benefits and a collaborative team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with students with special needs preferred.
• Must relate well with students, staff, and parents.
• Strong office, computer, and oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students.
• Support students with Autism in classrooms and community settings as needed.
• Follow school schedule and participate in required trainings.
• Supervise students as required in community settings.
