Job summary

Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 seeks a Full-time Signing Personal Care Assistant (1:1 Paraeducator) to support a sensory-impaired student. 7:00 hours per day, Monday to Friday, 185 days per year, site location Manheim Central Baron Elementary.

The role includes instructional, behavioral and personal care support under supervision of the classroom teacher and program supervisor. 201-? positions may end with student placement decisions.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Must meet one of four PDE qualifications for paraeducators.
• Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators (PDE) or willing to complete within 6 months.
• Two years postsecondary study with 48 credits (transcript required).
• Associate degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support per IEP.
• Work under the direction of the classroom teacher and supervisor.
• 1:1 paraeducator Assignments and support for school-age students.
• Position valid for the school year and may terminate based on student placement.
