Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a skilled school-based Registered Nurse in Dekalb, IL for a 35-hour week, five days a week, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The contract runs through the school year and provides direct 1:1 nursing care to a high school student in a supportive educational setting. Ideal candidates hold an Illinois RN license and have experience in school or pediatric care, with strong communication skills to collaborate with families and school staff.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required.
• Experience in school or pediatric settings preferred.
• Proficient in tracheostomy monitoring and airway care.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students, families and staff.
• Adaptability and compassion in supporting students with medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 nursing care for a female high school student during school hours.
• Monitor tracheostomy and respiratory needs throughout the day.
• Deliver routine health care and respond to emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student health status and interventions.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure student participation in activities.
• Support educational outcomes through proactive health management.
• No responsibilities for bus riding; student is ambulatory.
